In 2014, Avesta Group took part in the reconversion of a 20Ha urban park called Al-Shaheed Park, a garden built in the early 1960’s. Avesta’s skills helped in the elaboration of appropriate strategic planning for both Memorial Museum and Habitat Museum.

Al-Shaheed Park

The expanded Al-Shaheed Park is a recreation area and civic landmark for Kuwait City. Its museums — Memorial at one end, Habitat at the other — help new and old generations alike to understand their homeland’s history and natural heritage. The Park’s gardens are intended to be not only part of a Museum visit but also a leisure destination.

The Habitat Museum

The Habitat Museum is an engaging, memorable learning adventure for Kuwaitis young and old and a destination for school groups. Drawing on the expertise of the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR) and other institutions, the Museum showcases the work of Kuwaiti scientists so that visitors can see the country through their skilled eyes. The Museum also promote an appreciation for the nation's habitats, transforming visitors into naturalists and khalifas, or stewards, of the environment.

The Habitat Museum invites visitors to explore the land habitats of Kuwait, from desert plateaus to salt marshes. They realise the vital role plants play in habitats, learn about the latest Kuwaiti scientific research, and meet the country's diverse birdlife, all while engaged in hands-on discovery.
