In 1998, Avesta Group worked on the Galerie de Minéralogie et de Géologie of the Museum national d’Histoire Naturelle in Paris, France.
The Museum national d’Histoire Naturelle (French Museum of Natural History) is one of the oldest establishment of research and dissemination of scientific naturalist culture. The institution's significant buildings are located in the Jardin des Plantes, in the Vth arrondissement of Paris. Along with the Musée de l’Homme, the zoological park and multiple sites around France, it covers several aspects of natural history, such as the microbiology, mineralogy, plant and animal world, evolution, the Earth…
In Paris, next to the greenhouse, the menagerie or the palatial Evolution Gallery, the Galerie de Minéralogie et de Géologie (Mineralogy and Geology Gallery) is recognised as one of the world most prominent and most prestigious of its kind. Like the other Galleries, conservation and dissemination of knowledge are not the only core missions; the centre also leads significant researches, hosts teaching and courses (delivering masters and PhDs) and scientific expertise.
The display of rocks and minerals requests a unique layout and the use of an innovative medium. Through his path, the visitor is invited to discover the importance of each piece, its place among a complicated mechanism and its inner highlighted beauty.
