In 2012, Avesta Group worked on the concept and the planning of the Marrakech Museum for Photography and Visual Arts.

A Museum Dedicated to the Best Moroccan, North-African and International Lens-Based and Traditional Fine Art

The Marrakesh Museum for Photography and Visual Arts will focus its collecting across three interpretative genres of photography and lens-based media both static and moving: architecture and design, photojournalism, fashion and culture. The museum will build a collection that will allow several uses both in its exhibition and education programmes.
The museum will also form a hub for education by taking students from Morocco and the region, whose interests are in curatorial studies, museum operations, development etc. and teach them both within the museum, their community and abroad by internships placements.

The Marrakesh Museum for Photography and Visual Arts will be housed in a 8,000 sqm state of the art museum facility designed by renowned architect Sir David Chipperfield.
