In 2016, Avesta Group has worked on the operational and financial planning of the Beirut City Museum.


A Hub for All Museums in Beirut

Located in the centre of the city, the archaeological area includes essential symbolic sites: Garden of Forgiveness, Mohamad Al Amin Mosque, St George Maronite Cathedral, prime minister Rafic Hariri gravesite, the Martyrs’ Square.  

The Beirut City Museum will be a remarkable cultural destination and social experience where to travel back in time to explore common inheritance and legacy and learn about Lebanese history. With the direct evidence of the archaeological site, Beirut City Museum will encapsulate and outlines the city and its inhabitant's history. It will be connecting and interconnecting Peoples of Beirut, Lebanon and the Mediterranean basin to their past and present through history and archaeology. 


More Than a Museum

The Beirut City Museum will be an indoor and outdoor cultural destination and social experience made out of a world-class museum, an innovative interpretation centre and a professional research centre. It will offer a comprehensive and memorable experience that will be didactic, engaging and interactive. It will create unique opportunities for creative teaching, innovative research, and personal enrichment. Centre for public engagement and open learning, its exhibitions and innovative programmes are meant for all and conceived to encourage the dialogue between the institution, the collections, the visitors, the city and its history.
