Since 2018, Avesta Group is in charge of a project dedicated to the Prophet’s life, based in the holy city of Madinah, Saudi Arabia.
The whole concept of the Assalam Museum is to base the visitors’ experience on sensations and emotions to lead them along the footsteps of the Prophet. These feelings are transmitted to visitors by two different approaches during the permanent exhibition journey.
The first rooms of the museum present a more historical point of view. This approach should rely on some main characters of the Prophet early life (before his settlement in Madinah) to evoke Saudi Arabia before Islam.
In the second part of the permanent exhibition, starting with the Building of the Umma, the approach needs to be more chrono thematical with a focus on symbolic places related to the Prophet and his Companions.
An active link should be made between the content of the exhibition and the outside locations that make Madinah one of the two holiest cities in Islam. This outdoor environment will be around the panoramic rooftop, to allow visitors to contemplate these historic places from the Museum.
The museum takes place in a strong context, and the link between the outside and the inside is essential. The visitors' experience is all the more emotional and immersive because they can directly see the places mentioned in the exhibition from the Panoramic Walkway. This contemplative space is linked with an Interpretive Hall that allows visitors to learn more about what they see on the rooftop, to make the panoramic experience a purely sensorial moment.
